Beware of the Monster...

So I asked Christian to clean up his room this afternoon. All he really had to do was to put a few toys into his toy box. After a while of mostly messing around he came to tell me that he was done. Our coversation went like this:

C: I'm done, cleaning up my room.
M: So you picked up all your toys?
C: Yes, but don't go in there because there is a monster laying down on the bed.
M: Well, if I go look and see toys on the floor you will be in trouble for lying to me.
C: Well, should I shut my door?

Where do they come up with this stuff? Anyways, it made me laugh!

Funny language barriers...

Well about 2 days ago we met a family from Germany while having an AIM meeting at Sam's Cafe. They are building a ranch here and have been looking for a church home. We invited them to come and worship with us! We were all very excited. Now remember, they're from Germany. They speak spanish very well and a little bit of english, so to comunicate we both speak in our second language, which is Spanish.

Today Marco, the German, showed up at the church for our prayer time. He brought a young man who came with him to work on the ranch, his name is Harry. After our prayer time I started talking to Harry(in English because he doesn't know Spanish). He is from Finland. I overheard Harry and Marco talking and assumed they were speaking in German to one another. I didn't know what they spoke in Finland so I asked Harry what his native language was. He tells me Finish (sp?). Humm? So I asked if he can speak German. No, he says. So now I'm confussed so I ask him how he and Marco communicate. In Norwegian, he answers. What!

What a funny world we live in. And the funnier thing is when Chris & I, Marco & Harry are together we really have no common language, but can manage to communicate! Funny how that happens! Plus, none of us are even from Mexico! But we are all united on one thing, we long to worship and praise our Father, in whatever language we can!

Happy 4th of July!!!
I hope everyone enjoyed their Independence Day celebration! We enjoyed the day at a nearby water park with the AIMers and the Gary's. It was a fun day to mess around and enjoy time together. We all had fun swimming and eating! And of course we enjoyed a nice rain shower as well!
We ate the best hamburgers that Chris enjoyed grilling! Posted by Picasa

Farewell and God bless..

This last week we were honored to have a group of 18 come from Shawnee, OK for a campaigne trip. They worked hard around the church and the comunity. They fixed the roof of a local orphange and also fed and played with the kids there. They were also just a great encouragment for me. I went to the children's home one day with them and also showed a group around the leather markets and beautiful Guanajuato. As fun as it was to show off my beautiful city, I recieved much more from them. They were encourged by our work. They loved on my kids and listened to my stories. They asked about my life and shared with my theirs. I feel like I made several new friends that will last for years to come. When they left yesturday we tearfully exchanged e-mail addresses. It was a great week for a renewed spirit. Their devos were encouraging and so was the early morning Sunday service. What a week! Thank you all for coming and renewing my spirit! Posted by Picasa
