A traditional drink for their 'Independencia' celebration! Made with lime, orange, grapefruit, salt and some kind of red syrup. It was different, but good! Posted by Picasa

What a Week!

This past week was a really exciting week for us. Last Monday we got the call that a family from the church had their baby. So we were all really excited to welcome a new baby boy to the church.
Then on Friday Gerardo, a man that Chris and Shawn had been studying with, decided to put on Christ in baptizm. We were all really excited. We went to a church across town and then back to our church for food and followship. It was a great evening!

We have been having large groups coming every Sunday. More encouraging, is that most of the families have been coming for about a month and some even longer. It has been great watching God blessing our efforts here. Posted by Picasa

Watching tv. Since we moved the office so Alison could have her own room, the kids now have a couch to watch tv. After their baths they usually watch a cartoon before going to bed! Posted by Picasa

Alison goes back to school...

Well, Alison went back to school today. She was very excited and could not wait to see her friends again. She is in what's called here Kinder III. This is the same as Kindergarden in the states. They are a little more ahead here though. She will have to take a test in March in order to get into 1st grade. The test will have reading comprehension, math, writing (in cursive) and I'm not sure what else. All of this will be in Spanish of course. So on top of that I will be teaching her all these same things in English. I am sure this will be nice and confusing. But I wish that I had learned Spanish at her age!
